RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS

Confirmation

Year 6 students are moving closer to their sacrament of Confirmation. Students are in Week 4 of their workshops.  They will participate in a Confirmation Retreat Day on Friday in the Hall, along with all of the candidates from other schools.  Students will begin the day with mass at 9am, joining our whole school, celebrating the Feast of the Sacred Heart.  All families and friends are most welcome to join us.

There will be a Celebration of Confirmation rehearsal on the weekend of 17/18 June. Saturday 17th June at the 5:00pm Mass is for the 18th July Session and on Sunday 18th June at the 9am Mass for the 19th July session.  Celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation will be held on Tuesday 18th July & Wednesday 19th July at 7:00pm.

The Celebration of Confirmation ceremony details can be found on the final leaflet distributed for Confirmation Program 2023.  All parents and candidates need to be quietly seated by 6:30pm in the church.

Confirmation Candidates are to wear “Sunday Best” (Smart/Casual), no thongs, cut off short or singlets.

Just a reminder for the students to colour their dove and place their name on it and either return it at one of the workshops or bring it to one of their Year 6 teachers.

Feast of the Sacred Heart

This Friday morning at 9am Nazareth School will be attending mass at 9am to celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart.  This celebration occurs 19 days after Pentecost, honouring Jesus' divine love for humanity, which brings to mind all the attributes of His Divine Heart. All family and friends are most welcome to join their children at mass.  The children definitely love seeing their families.

Wednesday Mass and Faith & Learning visits

This week Year 6 will be attending the 9am Wednesday mass. After mass we would love all of the families to join their children in the classroom to enjoy a snapshot of their learning.  Next week (Week 9) Kindergarten and Year 5 will be celebrating mass, followed by a classroom visit.   We warmly invite all parents, family members or friends who wish to join the children at any of the Wednesday masses.

All mass times can be found in the All Saints Parish Bulletin and all other important information. A link can be found on the Parish Website:  https://www.dow.org.au/parish/all-saints-catholic-parish-shellharbour-city
