PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Now that the school year has well and truly commenced I wish to outline to all parents the main priorities for Nazareth during 2019. The school’s Vision and Mission statement underpins the school’s strategic intent and gives meaning to the current school improvement action plans. The following is a brief summary of the key areas for 2019, all of which are undertaken in the context of a nurturing safe and supportive Catholic learning environment for all students.
- Catholic Life and Religious Education:
The teaching of Religious Education lessons and the promotion of the All Saints Parish. - Students and their Learning:
The promotion of critical and creative thinking skills so that all students are actively engaged with their learning
The implementation of the new National Literacy and Numeracy Learning Progressions so that learning gain for students can be accurately recorded, tracked and reported
Students to develop necessary skills to competently access NAPLAN online - Pedagogy:
Refine teaching practices to further improve comprehension and vocabulary knowledge, so that all students can achieve learning gain in Literacy and Numeracy - Resources Finance and Facilities:
Enhancement of learning spaces so that Stage 3 classrooms and the Learning Support Centre are equipped with contemporary classroom furniture to better align with teaching pedagogy
The implementation of effective school based recycling procedures - Innovation, development and change:
The roll out of a new administration system known as Compass - Parents Partnership Consultation and Communication:
Reformatting of the school website and school newsletter with the inclusion of social media.
Congratulations to the children who competed in last week’s swimming carnival and congratulations to all Year 2 children for the manner in which they participated the Year 2 Swimming Program. Well done boys and girls.
