LEARNING with 2L

It has been an exciting and productive term in 2L. We have been learning about 3D objects including terms such as faces, edges, vertices and boundaries. Students have the opportunity to build their own 3D shapes, using playdough and matchsticks here are some examples of their superb efforts.

During English we have been exploring and refining skills in planning and creating narratives. A particular emphasis was placed on character development. Students have spent time making inferences about characters and the results are very impressive.
Our Science and Technology unit this term has focused on energy. 2L has explored the differences between renewable and non renewable energy. With some students sharing their thoughts on energy.
Chloe: It's power that comes from the sun.
Beau: Hydro power comes from water and water and is renewable.
Arthur: Renewable energy is better than non renewable energy because it doesn't pollute the air and increase global warming.
Ivy: If we use wind energy we can create power for our homes.
Ethan: Renewable energy is good for our environment.
Jacob: They use the waves in the dams to make renewable energy. When we use oil it is a non renewable energy source. Because the earth doesn't hold an infinite amount of oil.
Layla: Geothermal energy comes from the ground and it is renewable.
Hendrix: Non renewable energy comes from coal
