PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Parents and Carers,
This week is Bullying No Way – National Week of Action. The theme for 2025 is "Be Bold, Be Kind, Speak Up." It takes courage to spark change, and bullying is everyone’s responsibility. It takes a community to be brave and address bullying behaviours, both within and beyond the school gates. Students can be bold, show kindness, and take a stand to support others who are being bullied, while parents and teachers work together to help children and young people learn positive behaviours. This week there have been many conversations about what this looks like, in our classrooms, playgrounds, online and at home. For further support and advice, please visit Bullying No Way for Families.
The theme for the 2025 Children's Book Week is "Book an Adventure”. This year we will be celebrating Book Week on Thursday 28 August will our annual Book Week Parade. On this day students are invited to come to school dressed as their favourite book character. The parade will commence at 8:45am after the morning assembly. Parents, carers, and grandparents are warmly invited to join us for the celebration!
Everything is progressing well for the Nazareth Spring Fair on Saturday 20 September. Please save the date and share the details with your family and friends. The committee is still seeking volunteers—whether you can spare an hour or help for the whole day, your support will be greatly appreciated. To let us know your availability, please complete the On the day volunteer form.
Thank you for your continued support of the school uniform expectations. As a general reminder, it is expected that all students are in the correct school uniform daily. The expectations explicitly outline the school uniform required for both boys and girls enrolled at Nazareth. The expectations also include guidelines on the wearing of jewellery, nail polish, make-up and haircuts. All long hair must be tired back, regardless of gender. The emphasis is on neat and tidy hairstyles, as well as the child’s natural hair colour. Maroon sports shorts are the expectations for the sports uniform for both boys and girls (not skirts or skorts). On the rare occasion, that your child cannot wear the correct uniform, a written explanation should be provided to their teacher. Thank you for your ongoing support in enforcing the uniform expectations.
Kind regards,
Mr Matt Downes
(Principal)
