PB4L
This week, our PB4L focus is on Self-Awareness, one of the five Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) competencies.
Self-awareness is all about recognising our own emotions, knowing our personal strengths, and developing a strong sense of self-worth. When students are self-aware, they are better able to manage their feelings, understand how their behaviour impacts others, and make positive choices.
In class, students are engaging with our Self-Awareness slides and SEL Competencies posters. Activities are completed in short, 10-minute sessions across the week to help children:
-
Talk about what self-awareness looks like;
-
Identify and name their emotions;
-
Recognise their personal strengths.
We can help by encouraging children to talk about their feelings each day, celebrating their unique strengths, and modelling self-awareness by sharing how we handle emotions in positive ways.
