First Holy Communion

If your child is in Year 3 or older, they have completed the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and you would like your child to receive First Holy Communion, please attend any mass over each weekend to prepare your child for this sacrament. This weekend you will be given an enrolment form, an information timetable and a commitment card for your child. Next weekend, on 6-7 September, completed enrolment forms are to be returned, along with a fee of $25. Please allow approximately 20 minutes after mass each week. The celebration of the Sacrament of First Holy Communion will take place on Sunday, 23 November at 11am. If you are presenting your child for First Holy Communion, please ensure that you keep that weekend free.

Mini Vinnies

On Wednesday of this week the Mini Vinnies team will have the privilege of a guest speaker, Mr David Gearin, at their meeting to congratulate them on their results so far and to talk to them about the honour of being a Mini Vinnies member. He will also tell them of some outreach opportunities. Watch this space!

Christmas Story Art Competition

Each year students in Years 5 and 6 are invited from across the Diocese to explore the Christmas story through art. Finalists have their pieces displayed at a public exhibition in the Wollongong City Art Gallery. All of Stage 3 have drafted their pieces and are now into the finalising stages of their artwork. Mrs Corradini is working extremely hard with all students to extend some already outstanding work through group and 1:1 workshops. After the judging has taken place, all of the students’ artwork will be displayed in the season of Advent for the school community to view.

Wednesday Mass and Faith & Learning visits

This week Year 3 will be attending Wednesday mass at 9am and all families are warmly invited to join their children back in the classroom to explore their learning. Next week, in Week 7, Faith and Learning will be hosted by Kindergarten. Thank you to all families who come to mass and then join the students back in the classroom for a glimpse into the children’s learning.
