PRAYER TO CELEBRATE THE BEGINNING OF THE 2019 SCHOOL YEAR

The school will join together to celebrate the beginning of the 2019 school year on Monday 25th February, 2019 at 1:50pm. Stage Three leaders will receive their badges at this time, along with Student Representative Council members for each grade. Parents are invited to attend.

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK

In Week 6, we celebrate Catholic School’s Week from 3rd to 9th March.

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK PRAYER CELEBRATION

Nazareth will celebrate with Prayer on Monday 4th March at 1:50pm in the school hall. Please come along and join in this prayer celebration.

OPEN CLASSROOMS

There will also be an opportunity for parents, grandparents and carers to visit students in the classroom. Classrooms will be open on Tuesday 5th March from 1:50pm.

DIOCESAN EDUCATION MASS

Staff will be attending the Diocesan Education Mass for all staff of the diocese on Thursday 7th March, beginning at 6pm at Fairy Meadow.

PROJECT COMPASSION LAUNCH

On Tuesday 5th March, Mr Dempsey with two Year 6 students will attend the Project Compassion launch at St Brigid’s School, Gwynneville. This year the theme of Project Compassion is Hope and the hope that comes from giving Lent 100%. Bishop Greg O’Kelly, former Chairman of Caritas Australia, reminds us that hope is one of the three pillars of Christian virtue, the others being faith and charity. Hope as a powerful force for good helps transform lives. Hope enables us to rise above fear and helps those in need shape a better future for their communities.

ASH WEDNESDAY

On Wednesday 6th March, students from Years 1 - 6 will be attending Mass in the All Saints Church at 9:30am to celebrate Ash Wednesday. On Ash Wednesday, a cross will be placed on our foreheads as a reminder that we follow Christ. Ash Wednesday is the beginning of the Church season of Lent. With the help of Jesus, we try during Lent to become better. Parents are invited to attend Mass with the students.

Kindergarten students will have a prayer with ashes in the classroom later in the day.
