PRINCIPALS MESSAGE
I would like to welcome everyone to Term 4 2019, and express my pleasure with being back in the Nazareth community. Mr Dempsey will remain on leave for another few weeks caring for his wife who is recovering from a successful surgery. I will continue as Acting Principal during his absence and will then return to my Assistant Principal position when he returns.
In 2019, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Pope Benedict XV's Apostolic Letter Maximum Illud, Pope Francis announced that October would, from this point, be known as The Extraordinary Missionary Month - a worldwide occasion of prayer, stories of mission, formation and charity.
This year, the theme of the month has been ‘Baptised and Sent: The Church of Christ on Mission in the World.’ Catholic Mission - the Pope’s official mission agency – helps Catholics in Australia to live God’s mission in the world. Through Catholic Mission, students across Australia are encouraged to learn about how the Church is taking a lead in providing life-saving care to children and fostering their personal development for a brighter future.
The students have been shown the following website and engaged in some discussion/activities - https://wmm2019.cm.org.au/primary--360-degree-vr-3-6.html
I wish all students well in the upcoming Cricket Gala Day and the CPS Basketball Challenge.
Enjoy the week ahead,
Lisa Tyson
Acting Principal
