PRINCIPALS MESSAGE
As we near the end of this Term I wish to acknowledge the extraordinary work of the Nazareth staff. Their consistent daily commitment ensuring students are engaged with their learning, are cared for and supported, is inspirational. This year has presented with so many challenges for educators, yet the Nazareth staff continue to rise above the challenges to ensure each child has every opportunity to progress with their learning. I wish to extend my sincere thanks to all staff members.
As challenging as it has been for educators, so to for parents, including the demands on you to ensure stability for your family during this turbulent time of uncertainty. In this context I recommend to you the program Ripples which has been included in our newsletter for the past several months.
Ripples: Inspired Voices Treasured Stillness, was developed in response to COVID -19 and from a desire to find ways to walk with parents (and staff) in an innovative way so as to remain connected. Robyn Gallagher (CEDoW) has developed these regular podcasts as a means of addressing the following questions:
- How do I process all that is happening in the world at the level of the heart?
- How do I remain measured when there are so many challenges?
- How might I experience a sense of God’s closeness?
The Ripples podcasts attempt to provide space and time by drawing on the wisdom of a series of guest speakers, so that the listener can experience some treasured stillness through mediation. The podcasts have the potential to impact positively on the way you respond to family, friends and colleagues. Give it a go. https://ripples.dow.catholic.edu.au
Nazareth school has a long history of musical performance and I am very pleased to announce that on Wednesday December 2, Year 6 will present the play ‘Blue Ribbon Belle’ (see details in this newsletter) which will be live-streamed. Rehearsal is already underway which includes every student in Year 6. There will be an 11am matinee performance live-streamed which will then be replayed at 6:30pm so that the students will be able to watch with their families from home. All details in relation to the livestreaming will be forwarded to all families next Term. The play will be safely performed with adherence to COVID-19 restrictions.
I hope that all families enjoy the up and coming school vacation time. Be safe, take care and enjoy the weeks ahead.
