PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

This week, Holy Week, marks the holiest of time in the church’s year. The events of Holy Week are at the centre of our Christian belief, that being that Christ suffered, died and rose from the dead.

The pattern of events that occurred during the last days of Jesus’ earthly life (as remembered on Good Friday and Easter Sunday) are mirrored and replicated to varying degrees, in our own life and the lives of those close to us. Whether it be through illness, disappointment, separation or the many challenges that confront us, we all have a cross to carry, a hardship to endure. Regardless of our own personal circumstances, the resurrection of Christ on Easter Sunday provides us with hope, even when we think all is lost.

I encourage you, along with your family, to attend one of the Parish Masses or Liturgies over the days ahead. Refer to Mass times etc in this newsletter.

As this Term draws to a close I congratulate all Nazareth students for what they have achieved this Term. All students have improved with an aspect of their learning which is a result of their hard work and high level of engagement with their learning.

For those parents/carers who have utilised the afternoon school pick up procedure I encourage you to show your appreciation to the Nazareth staff on Thursday afternoon as it will be the last day, after 12 months, of that procedure. Remember that next Term children will be dismissed at 2:45pm from the playground area near their classrooms.

I will be attending a funeral in Sydney on Thursday and will not be at Nazareth. With Lisa Tyson on Leave this week, I have organised Mrs Jan Hutton to be Relieving Principal in my absence. Jan is an experienced Principal and will be able to support the students, staff and parents as required on Thursday.

I wish all families a very happy and holy Easter. Take care.
