I extend my sincere thanks for your support and co-operation during this time of great challenge for all of us. NSW Health directives currently state that children should be at home engaged with remote learning. As previously communicated, I stress to all parents / carers, if there is no other option, the school is providing supervision. The supervision is not ‘normal face to face teaching’ and is being provided by a small group of staff members.

I wish to acknowledge the efforts of Nazareth students and how they are attending to the expectations associated with remote learning. It is very different to what our students are used to and I know that many of the students are missing their friends and their teachers. Class teachers are keeping in contact with all students and providing extra assistance online where required.

As we approach July 25 which has been designated as World Day for Grandparents, Nazareth school wishes to acknowledge the extraordinary role that Grandparents play in supporting families. Previously (pre-COVID), Nazareth has hosted Grandparents at the school, unfortunately this is not possible this year. A focus on Grandparents will however be incorporated into the student’s remote learning during the time ahead. Nazareth School values and honours all Grandparents, Great Grandparents and all those that fulfil the role of Grandparent. In particular our thoughts and prayers are with the many families who during this time of lock down have been separated from Grandparents and for those families who have in recent time lost Grandparents.
