PB4L

This week, the PB4L team would like to remind parents, carers and students of some ways that they can encourage ‘Positive Behaviours 4 Learning’ at home during this time of remote learning. Here are some ideas to help keep your child motivated and to help them maintain a positive state of mind.

  • Children love a routine! Stick to a routine on school days by having set times for remote learning activities and breaks, including recess and lunch.

  • Make sure that your child has time for ‘brain breaks’ throughout the day. These can be as simple as putting on your favourite song and having a dance to it, drawing a picture, playing a game with someone, kicking a ball in the backyard, playing with a pet or taking the dog for a walk.

  • When your child (or you) is at a point of feeling upset or frustrated by a task, try encouraging them to take a break and do something that they enjoy doing for 10 or 15 minutes. Once your child has had time to calm down and reset, they might feel ready to tackle that task again once and for all!

  • Encourage your child by praising them for the effort they are putting into their learning. Let them know that you are proud of what they are achieving in their remote learning.

The staff at Nazareth are extremely proud of the children and are enjoying seeing all the fantastic work they are presenting. We appreciate the time and effort parents are putting into assisting their children with their learning. Stay safe and take care of each other.
