KINDERGARTEN ORIENTATION 2021
We are so pleased we could go ahead with face to face Kindergarten Orientation this year. The new Kindergarten children were very excited to come and visit Nazareth School. It was lovely to meet the smiling faces in person and get to know the children before they start their Nazareth journey next year.
A 'Welcome to Kindy eBook' will be available for 2022 Kindergarten children to look at shortly. A letter to parents outlining the purpose of the eBook along with instructions on downloading it will be sent out when the book is finalised.
BEST START
Best Start Assessments will be held between Tuesday,1st February - Friday, 4th February. The booking system for Best Start will be available via Compass to Kindergarten 2022 parents and carers this week.
SHELLHARBOUR CITY COUNCIL MAYOR'S GIVING TREE APPEAL
Nazareth School wishes to support the Mayor’s Giving Tree Appeal. Families are encouraged to gift wrap a Christmas gift for a child and take it to the foyer area of the council building on College Ave. Alternatively, wrapped Christmas gifts can be collected at Nazareth and the school will organise for the gifts to be placed in the foyer of the Council building. The school and the broader Shellharbour community extends a huge thank you to all families who are to support this most worthwhile community initiative.
THE i98 ILLAWARRA 2021 CONVOY AND ST VINCENT DE PAUL CHRISTMAS APPEAL
Recently I received a beautiful letter from one of our Year 2 students, Laila. Within the letter, Laila included the idea of the school raising money to support children who are unwell. In particular Laila suggested that Nazareth school might be able to support the i98 Illawarra 2021 Convey fundraising. Laila’s referenced in her letter the Nazareth School prayer which refers to the importance of being generous and giving without counting the cost. In this context the school invites students from Kinder to Year 6 to wear mufti clothes on Thursday Dec 9th and in doing so bring a gold coin(s) donation. Money raised will be forwarded to Convey fundraising. Families also have the option of donating additional funds by following the links on the The i98 Illawarra 2021 Convey website. In conjunction with this some of the money raised will also support the annual St Vincent de Paul Christmas appeal. This appeal supports families (particularly) children who are in need at Christmas time. The school sincerely thanks you for your generous support at this time.
