MOTHER'S DAY 

On Sunday we celebrated Mother’s Day where we appreciate our loving mothers who care for us and love us very much. We normally give presents such as chocolate, flowers and other nice little gifts that show our appreciation, however on Friday morning at Nazareth we had our own Mother’s Day celebration where we had breakfast, coffee and tea. We also had our mothers, grandmothers, great grandmothers and anyone else that is like a mother to anyone come to visit. After the breakfast all the children and most parents came and joined together in the hall for a beautiful Mother’s Day liturgy produced by Kindergarten.

NIGHT OF THE NOTABLES

This term Year 6 is focusing on the Night of the Notables, we will all chose a certain notable person and learn about them and then become them for one night. I have chosen to share Eugenie Clark’s story, Eugenie was an ichthyologist, which is the study of fish, she was also a marine conservationist. She loved to study sharks and in her time was known as, ‘The Shark Lady’. In class time we are working on writing biographies about our notables, we have read biographies and learnt the difference between autobiographies and biographies.

This term in Year Six we are working on ‘Night Of The Notables’. This is where you pick a notable person and do research on them, then on Thursday night in Week 9 you set up in the hall and re-enact the person’s life. I have picked Janine Shepherd. Year Six have been working very hard on it and we would love for you to come along. It will be on Thursday night at 6:00pm, week 9 in our school hall.
