PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
The recently held school disco was an outstanding success and I wish to extend my thanks to the many parents and family members who assisted on the evening. Without doubt it is the largest number of children we have ever had in attendance at such an event and from what I observed everyone had a great time.
During this Term the school has been able to hold and be involved in a number of significant events and initiatives including, the Year 6 excursion to Cataract Scout Camp, the Shellharbour Reconciliation Flag Walk, Back Flips Against Bullying, the school disco, Grandparent’s Day, involvement in the Parish’s Multi-Cultural Day, Mini Vinnies, NAPLAN for Years 3 and 5, Mother’s Day Liturgy and Stall, participation in the Diocesan Cross Country Time Trial and NSW MacKillop Cross Country, school tours and weekly school assemblies. I am pleased that despite major disruption caused by illness and extreme weather, the school is now engaged with regular additional activities and events which provide a diverse range of extra curricula opportunities for our students.
I remind all parents that the school’s preferred procedures in relation to communication with staff include, phone call to the school office or email to the school’s info@nscdow.catholic.edu.au, or in person contact at the school office. Emails and messages from parents will be forwarded to the particular staff member. I thank everyone for your cooperation in relation to these preferred options. Please note that I am currently reviewing the use of Seesaw across the whole school and I will communicate with parents next Term the outcomes of the review.
Please remember the many families that are part of the school community that are in need of our prayers due to personal circumstances. As a Catholic parish school, the challenges experienced by so many should never to be too far from our thoughts, prayers and acts of generosity and kindness.
Enjoy the week ahead
