This term the school will be celebrating Book Week. This year’s theme ‘Dreaming with eyes open’ is about country, dreaming, and all the things that are hidden but also seen. Over the coming weeks students will read the shortlisted books and engage in a variety of different learning experiences and competitions to celebrate our love of reading.

On Friday 2nd September all children are invited to come to school dressed as their favourite book character. Families are invited to join us on the 2nd September for a book parade (starting at 8:50am).

To prepare for Book Week, Nazareth students have started reading the CBCA finalist books. In 2L we read Stellaphant! 

Aoife retells the story:
"Stellaphant wanted to be an astronaut but when she went to the Space station the man did not let her because she was an Elephant. He said she had to make her own space suit, her rocket and she had to train her own crew. When she went back he said she still couldn't be an astronaut. She realised she didn't need their permission because she was ready to go to space! At the end of the book all the animals went up to Space."

Charlie - I really liked the book because it had elephants going into Space. 
Tomas - We learnt that there are lots of animals that can go to space. Like a fruit fly, a monkey and even eggs!
