PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
I am very pleased to let you know that Peter Dempsey has received positive news regarding his recent heart health concern. He does not require any further treatment at this point in time, which is a great relief to his family and to the Nazareth community. We wish him all the best for the next few weeks of rest and relaxation and look forward to welcoming him back at the start of Term 4.
I take this opportunity to welcome Ms Genevieve Cook to the role of Acting Assistant Principal for the remainder of this term. Genevieve comes to us from the “School Improvement-Primary” team at the Catholic Education Office. We hope she enjoys her time with us and I’m sure the teachers and students will benefit from her support and extensive experience.
Nazareth will formally celebrate BOOK WEEK next week. As many of you know, Book Week is a favourite of mine, and the whole school community enjoys all of the associated activities. Our Book Week parade will take place on the morning of Friday 2nd September. Weather permitting, we will hold it in our assembly area. In the event of inclement weather, we will gather in the hall. Please refer to your COMPASS notifications for further details about the week.
We have always been very proud of the way in which the students of Nazareth present and conduct themselves, especially when we have special events or visitors. Last week, we were fortunate enough to welcome the Edmund Rice College Band back to our school. At the end of their performance the two teachers accompanying the students made special mention of the excellent audience manners exhibited by our students. This has been a PB4L focus of ours, and we were delighted to hear that their excellent manners and responsible participation had a fabulous effect on the band members – enticing them to perform at their best so far this year! Congratulations to all of our students.
