Dear Parents and Carers,

Students from all year levels participated with great enthusiasm, showcasing their athletic skills and sportsmanship. Thank you to Mrs Mobberley, Mrs Smith, the staff and the many parent helpers who volunteered to assist, without your support, such school events would not be possible. The ribbons and age champions presentation will take place during a special assembly in the school hall on Wednesday 2 July at 1:50pm.
As previously mentioned, Semester 1 Reports will be available on Compass from Wednesday 2 July. Learning Conversations for students in Years 1-6 occurred in Term 1 as per our reporting and assessment schedule. Kindergarten parents will be provided with a mid-year learning conversation opportunity at the commencement of next term, information on how to book a time will be shared with families next week.
This year we will be celebrating Grandparent’s Day on Wednesday 23 July. This is a special day where we honour and appreciate the important role that grandparents play in our lives. All parents, carers and grandparents are warmly invited to join us in celebrating and giving thanks for the beautiful gift of grandparents. The celebration on Wednesday 23 July will commence with mass at 9:00am and will be followed by morning tea and open classrooms. Please save the date and share it with the grandparents within your families.
Tonight, our amazing P & F are hosting a silent disco, please view the flyer below for further details. Thank you to the many parent helpers who have offered to assist on the night. A special thank you to Nikki and Ryan Aitchison who have donated the silent disco headsets.

Thank you to the parents who are bringing their children to Confirmation workshops. This is the final week of workshops. Please remember that only the ‘Home Activity’ is completed at home. The final worksheets are to be completed at the workshop with your child. It is an important time to share memories and experiences with your child relating to their upcoming Confirmation. On Thursday students will participate in the Retreat Dayl, combining with Stella Maris and public school students. All students who are attending the retreat day are able to wear mufti and will need to bring their recess and lunch.
Confirmation date: Tuesday and Wednesday, 1-2 July 2025 at 7pm.
Whole School Mass
Next Friday we will be celebrating the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, celebrated by the Church on the Friday following the second Sunday after Pentecost and focuses on the love of Jesus Christ for humanity. The term "Sacred Heart of Jesus" encompasses the entirety of Christ's being, his person, and his infinite love for all people. It is one of the most widespread and popular devotions in the Church. The Heart as the symbol reminds us of Christ's love for us. To celebrate this important feast day we will come together to celebrate as a whole school with mass at 9am. All family and friends are most welcome to join the students.

Wednesday Faith & Learning
This week there was no Faith and Learning visit due to our Athletics Carnival. Next week (Week 9) Year 3 will celebrate their Faith and Learning visit with mass beginning at 9am. All parents are warmly invited back to the classroom to see what their child is learning in their classroom and we look forward to seeing you.
Our Year 2E learners have been discovering the amazing story of Moses! They have been learning about how Moses helped free God’s people from Egypt and the rule of the Pharaoh and led them on an important journey. We’ve been reading, drawing, and talking about Moses and writing our own prayers to thank and celebrate God!
This week in Year 3, we've been learning all about how to be a good friend. Through stories, discussions, and role play, students have explored ways to show kindness, include others, and solve problems respectfully. We also talked about what to do if someone is being unkind or acting like a bully, including how to stand up for ourselves safely and when to ask a trusted adult for help.
In Science, we've been diving into the life cycles of animals. Students have been fascinated by how creatures like frogs, butterflies, and chickens grow and change! We’re becoming mini scientists as we observe, compare, and discuss the amazing ways living things develop.
Our Science unit linked well with our recent English study of Wandi, the true story of one of the last Alpine dingoes left in Australia. 3L has become extremely passionate about raising awareness for the endangered species and helping to create safe places for dingoes.
Year 3 are showing great curiosity and care as they learn more about the world and how to look after one another.
Congratulations:
Congratulations to the girls in Year 5 and 6 who attended the Sam Bremner Rugby League tackle gala day this week. The girls did a fantastic job on the day and played with enthusiasm and passion. It was great to see a number of girls who had never played Rugby League before getting in and having a go. Thank you to the parents who assisted on the day.

The PB4L focus during Week 8 continues to be RESPECT with attention being drawn to cheering on others and their success. During class and play time, students are encouraged to celebrate others achievements however big or small by congratulating or cheering them on. The children are encouraged to be Bucket Fillers. A “Bucket-Filler” is a KIND, CARING, and GENUINE person who wants to make others feel good about themselves.
Each class will make a Bucket Filler display. Where every student has a place for others to leave kind notes to show their appreciation.
