Message from Mr Dempsey:
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the many people who have offered their kind words and prayers during the time of my wife’s illness. Melanie is now doing well, her strength is building each day and she is making good progress with her recovery. I also wish to thank Lisa Tyson as Acting Principal and Jodi Marsh as Acting Assistant Principal for their excellent work during my time of Leave. I was at Nazareth this morning for a brief time and it was great to see the students, staff members and a number of parents in the playground. My Leave will be finishing at the end of this week and I will be back at Nazareth next Monday. I look forward to the last half of Term 4 and the significant events that are planned as we move towards the end of the year.

Dear Families,
This week I thought I would share a Prayer for rain and those affected. The prayer comes from the Catholic bishops of Australia National Prayer Campaign for the gift of rain during November.
Eternal God,
In wisdom and love you created our earth to sustain us and give us life.
We turn to you now in faith, hope and love, asking you to look with favour on our drought-stricken land, on our starving animals and failing crops.Strengthen, sustain and give new heart to our farmers and all who are affected by drought. In your loving providence, send abundant rain and restore our parched earth. Father of all compassion, hear our prayer through Jesus Christ your Son, in whom the promise of new life has dawned, and through the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life: Renew your faithful people, renew the faith of the earth.
Our lady of the Southern Cross, Mary, help of Christians

Save the date Wednesday December 4 & Thursday December 5. Additional information will be sent home shortly.
4A have recently been learning about two-dimensional shapes and the ways we can manipulate these shapes. We have been experimenting with using a range of common two-dimensional shapes to form other polygons. 4A have enjoyed working in teams and challenging themselves by coming up with as many different combinations as possible. We love challenging ourselves in 4A!
In Religion in Year 3 this term we have been working on a unit of work called “Eucharist – Jesus is with Us”. Many of us will be making our First Holy Communion this term so we have been reflecting on why the Mass is a special celebration for Catholics. Here are some of our reflections :
The Mass is special because we learn about Jesus and God and people come together. (Sam)
The Mass is a special celebration because we remember the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. (Rubie)
At Mass we learn about God and have bread and wine and we celebrate with other people. (Sienna)
Mass is special to Catholics because they want to hear stories about God and Jesus. It is also special to them because it is how they celebrate Communion. (Harley)

DIOCESAN BASKETBALL
Well done to our students who represented Nazareth at the recent diocesan basketball competition in Albury. It was a great opportunity for our students to demonstrate their basketball skills, sportsmanship, teamwork and fair play - and most of all, enjoy themselves and make new friends
HEADLICE
We have had a reported case of headlice. Please ensure your children's hats are cleaned often and all students hair is tidy and tied back to avoid contamination.
The head louse, or Pediculus humanus capitis, is a parasitic insect that can be found on the head, eyebrows, and eyelashes of people. Head lice feed on human blood several times a day and live close to the human scalp. Head lice are not known to spread disease.
Head lice are most common among primary school aged children and are spread by direct contact with the hair of the infested individual. Head lice are rarely transferred through clothing, hats, furniture or bedding. For further information please visit this website: https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/environment/headlice/Pages/default.aspx
