As previously noted, again I extend my sincere thanks to the many parents, carers, grandparents and students who have offered prayers and get well messages for my wife Melanie. Melanie continues to recover very well following a serious bout of pneumonia and 2 heart surgeries. We both appreciate the support and are very grateful for the care extended during the last 3 months.
As we move quickly towards the end of the school year I call to your attention the many events planned to take place between now and December 18 (last day for students). The details are included in this newsletter. A number of the events including, the Colour Run, School Disco and Christmas Family Celebration require some additional helpers. If you are able to offer your time at any of these events please contact the school office or see one of the members of the P&F who will have information available in the playground before and after school.
I encourage you to continue to pray the following prayer for rain.
Eternal God,
In wisdom and love you created our earth to sustain us and give us life.
We turn to you now in faith, hope and love, asking you to look with favour on our drought-stricken land, on our starving animals and failing crops.Strengthen, sustain and give new heart to our farmers and all who are affected by drought. In your loving providence, send abundant rain and restore our parched earth. Father of all compassion, hear our prayer through Jesus Christ your Son, in whom the promise of new life has dawned, and through the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life: Renew your faithful people, renew the faith of the earth.

ST VINCENT DE PAUL CHRISTMAS APPEAL
You can help end poverty
Christmas should be a special time for everyone. Many within our local community find the financial strain of Christmas too much to bear. Now is your chance to give back and help to change someone’s life for the better.
This year the Mini Vinnies team have organised each grade to donate a specific festive item.
Kindergarten – Lollies / Candy canes
Year 1 – Christmas cookies / shortbread
Year 2 – Bon-bons
Year 3 – Chips / popcorn
Year 4 – Christmas chocolates / chocolates
Year 5 – Fruit cake / Mince tarts
Year 6 – Savoury biscuits
Please donate and give the gift of hope this Christmas. Donations can be donated to the school and will be collected in the classrooms. Please be careful to ensure that food is not past the best by or used by date for Christmas.
We are also taking donations of Christmas shopping bags to package the items in. All donations can be given to the class teacher.
These donations will be presented to St Vincent de Paul at the end of the year Christmas Celebration.

STAGE 3 CAMP
Due to the recent bush fire danger the Stage 3 camp to Waterslea on the Shoalhaven River has been cancelled. Alternative activities are being arranged for Year 6 and for Year 5. All camp fees will be refunded. The administration associated with this process is complex due the integration of school fees and camp fees. The process has commenced and the school thanks everyone for your patience.
SCHOOL SAFETY
The school reminds everyone that we all share the collective responsibility for safety in and around the school. All families are reminded of the importance of the following:
- If crossing Glider Ave at the front of the school use the pedestrian crossing. Too many families are placing themselves in danger by crossing Glider Ave and not using the pedestrian crossing. The pedestrian crossing is supervised before and after school
- If accessing the school via the church car park, all vehicles MUST DRIVE AT WALKING PACE. Too many vehicles are deviating around the speed humps placing other people including children in danger.
NAZARETH'S COFFEE MACHINE
We have purchased a coffee machine to use for special events and assemblies at school. Please join us at Wednesday's morning assembly in Term Four for coffee. Please bring your keepcup (with a lid for safety).
