Dear Parents/Carers
Yesterday the students from Kindergarten to Year 5 and Nazareth Staff formed an impressive guard of honour for our graduating Year 6 students. Each of the Year 6 students walked through the guard of honour to applause and cheering. It was a highlight of the year and an emotional farewell to the class of 2020. The whole school community wishes every graduating Year 6 student all the best for their secondary years of education.
Following a time of Leave to attend to family commitments during 2020 and after much thought and consideration Mrs Julie Norris has decided to resign from her permanent teaching position at Nazareth. Mrs Norris commenced as class teacher at Nazareth in 2004 and has held the leadership roles of Religious Education Coordinator and Coordinator. Prior to teaching at Nazareth, Mrs Norris taught in the Sydney Diocese as well as St Thomas More Ruse and St Claire’s Narellan Vale where Mrs Norris taught as Reading Recovery teacher. Mrs Norris has always been highly respected by the families of the school communities in which she taught and has always been viewed as a valued and knowledgeable colleague by all who worked with her. Over many years she has made a very significant contribution to the life and culture of Catholic School communities including Nazareth. I sincerely thank Mrs Norris for all that she has done to support Nazareth school and I wish her and her family all the very best for the years ahead.
After a period of time teaching at Stella Maris, Ms Amy Moran has made the difficult decision to resign from her permanent teaching position at Nazareth. Ms Moran commenced teaching at Nazareth in 2003 and over many years up until 2019 has taught many Nazareth students and supported many families. Ms Moran also worked closely with the school’s foundational leadership team in establishing the school’s alignment with Ignatian spirituality and previously held the positions of Reading Recovery teacher and Acting Middle Leader. I sincerely thank Ms Moran for her work at Nazareth school and I wish her and her family all the very best for the future.
During 2020 Mrs Jennene Jankowski has been on Leave caring for her elderly mother. This has been particularly difficult in the context of the challenges of COVID-19. After considerable thought and consideration Mrs Jankowski (Mrs J) has decided to resign from her permanent role as School Support Officer at Nazareth. Mrs J commenced her work at Nazareth 2002 and over the last 18 years has supported many individual students and class teachers. Mrs J also played a major role in supporting sport in the school in particular basketball. Her generosity of time, commitment to the school and her ability to support individuals will always be remembered by many members of the school community. I wish to sincerely thank Mrs J for her work and dedication to the students of Nazareth and I wish her and her family all the best for the future.
I encourage families to participate in one of the up and coming parish Masses to celebrate Christmas. Refer the following information.
A happy and holy Christmas to all families. Take care particularly those traveling.
