I am very pleased to announce that within the precinct of All Saints Parish and Nazareth Primary School, CatholicCare is opening a new Early Learning Centre, Long Day Care/Preschool for 2-5 year old children. The proposed Development Application (DA) is currently before Shellharbour Council. The centre will include a new 60 place long day care centre and will provide a high-quality, early education and care experience for children and families, supporting a seamless transition to school. Highly qualified educators will deliver pre-school programs, catering for each child's needs and development. The learning program will be underpinned by the National Early Years Learning Framework and Quality Standards to guide and build strong early learning foundations so the children can thrive in the early years of their education journey, fostering a life-long love for learning.
We are currently consulting with local schools, parent groups and parishioners to understand how we can best meet the needs of the community. We value your voice, which will help shape the planning of the new Early Learning Centre and we would appreciate you completing this short survey: https://ncv.microsoft.com/wURfLQLpnx
Thank you to some parents who have already provided some initial feedback, I would however encourage others to share your opinions. Your feedback will help us shape a nurturing and caring quality education experience for the young children of our local community. If you'd like to register your interest for a placement, please go to catholiccare.dow.org.au. or make contact with the Nazareth School Office.
I wish to acknowledge and congratulate all children from Kindergarten to Year 6 for their ongoing great effort with remote learning. I also acknowledge and thank the Nazareth staff for their extra-ordinary work supporting students during this time. Please be assured we are currently engaged in extensive planning so that the transition back to school (when given approval by the NSW Government) will be supportive of all children. The school will continue to have a significant focus on the social and emotional wellbeing of each child so that the return to face to face teaching and learning, in accord with NSW Health directives, will be as seamless as possible. Please note that teachers are planning so that remote learning during Week 10 (last week of Term) will be less demanding and more interest/fun based.
Please remember in your prayers all those that continue to be deeply impacted by the current pandemic, in particular the people of Fr Joe’s homeland, Vietnam.
Happy Father’s Day to all Fathers, Grandfathers, Great Grandfathers, Stepfathers and all those that fulfil the role of Father. Enjoy the weekend and take care.

As part of this process, Bishop Brian would like to invite parents / carers to participate in a survey that seeks to collect information regarding "what they believe to be important for their children in presenting them for the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist”.
Below is a link to a letter of invitation to parents / carers from Bishop Brian to take part in this consultation process.
WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR THE CARE OF CREATION
The World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation is held each year on the 1st September. This day marks the beginning of the Season of Creation, which is an annual event that encourages prayer and action for our common home which runs from 1st September through to 4th October. Our school has been awarded Level 3 Certification as a Catholic Earthcare School and a copy of this Certificate is proudly displayed in our school office.
To celebrate this day, students acknowledged the day with a prayer during their remote learning. Students have also been engaged in other creation activities to celebrate. It is important that we all find ways to leave our planet in a better way than we found it.
RIPPLES PODCAST
In this different time that we are experiencing, sometimes we need to shut down and clear our minds of the things going on around us. The podcast Ripples: Inspired Voices, Treasured Stillness was developed in response to COVID-19 and from a desire to find new ways to ‘be’ in this environment.
This podcast was developed for staff and parents on-going spiritual formation. It seeks to offer a space where people can draw on the wisdom of a series of guest speakers and can experience some treasured stillness through meditation. Practices like these create a ripple effect. They have the potential to impact the way we respond to family, friends, colleagues, to creation and to our loving God. Come and enjoy some Inspired Voices and Treasured Stillness. The podcast can be listened to through ‘Apple Podcast’ or ‘’Podbean. To access please use this link: https://ripples.dow.catholic.edu.au/
Father Joe has devised a way to keep our parish community connected allowing access to masses and services from your home. Father Joe delivers a morning service, live streamed at 7.30am. Also each week All Saints Parish continues to present a Bulletin with the weekend Readings and other important information. A link can be found on the Parish Website: http://www.allsaintscatholic.org.au/allsaintscatholic/Welcome.html. Please remember Father Joe in your prayers as he works his way through this time of lockdown.

WAKAKIRRI
Yesterday afternoon I received the disappointing yet inevitable news that Wakakirri is again cancelled for a second year in a row. Wakakirri has been part of the Nazareth fabric since 2001 and to know that we cannot perform has been hard to accept.
I sincerely wish to thank the teachers who were part of the Nazareth Wakakirri Team- Ms D’Souza, Miss Biggs, Miss Bowman and Miss Reid who invested so much time and energy towards Wakakirri.
I would also like to thank all the parents for supporting their children in allowing them to participate. Finally I wish to say thank you to all the students who were the cast of our story.
I am so proud of all of you for making this commitment and keeping hopeful that the performance would go ahead. I am confident that you would have all shone on stage.. But sadly it was not to be. The Magic Fish did not grant our wish!!
I encourage you all to continue developing your talents and enthusiasm in the future for the performing arts.
