I continue to be impressed with how Nazareth students have returned to school following the recent extended time of remote learning. I have had the opportunity to spend time with each class and I have reminded all students about the importance of focusing on their learning over the last part of this Term. In particular, it has been excellent to hear our Kindergarten students speak about having a ‘growth mindset’ and how important it is to always do their best even if the learning task is a little hard. Also, it has been excellent to discuss with our Year 6 students their learning goal and behavioural goal. These two goals for all Year 6 students will apply for the remainder of this Term. I look forward to my follow up conversation with each Year 6 student when I will ask them to share evidence of their achievements.
I thank all parents/carers for your ongoing cooperation and support while we still navigate COVID-19 health restrictions and requirements. In particular a reminder that if your child is unwell they should not attend school. Also I acknowledge everyone’s support in relation to the afternoon dismissal procedure and your patience this week in relation to details associated with school photos.
The school was unable to gather together today to mark the significance of Remembrance Day but students have acknowledged the day within their own classes in an age appropriate manner.
Please remember in your prayers all Year 12 students who this week commenced the HSC.
Enjoy the week ahead. Take care.
Peter Dempsey
Principal
CONFIRMATION
Confirmation for Year 6 students be Saturday, 4 December and Sunday, 5 December at 11am. Due to current restrictions, the planned Retreat/Workshop day will take place within the school by Year 6 classroom teachers.
Each week All Saints Parish continues to present a Bulletin with the weekend Readings and other important information. A link can be found on the Parish Website: http://www.allsaintscatholic.org.au/allsaintscatholic/Welcome.html.
In Year One we have been learning about God's beautiful creation. We have enjoyed listening to the creation story and looking at all the different parts of creation. We have thought about what we like best about God's creation and the different ways we can look after creation. We learned how God rested on the last day and we brainstormed ways that we can rest at home and at school.
Take a look at our 'Nature Mandalas' that we made using pieces of God's creation that we found in our playground.
Lest we forget
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
This week in 3H we have been learning about money in Mathematics.
Students have been working in groups to calculate equivalent amounts of money using different denominations, perform simple calculations and have been learning how to find change.
We are looking forward to putting our money knowledge into use next week when we go "shopping".

Our Year 6 students have had a wonderful day presenting themselves as their chosen notable person at Nazareth's Day of the Notables!
The day was the culmination of the students studying their chosen notable person, creating amazing displays that demonstrated the life and work of these incredible people, then bringing them to life by dressing up as them.
The students enjoyed questioning each other about the life and values of their notable person, while making connections to their brilliant and exceptional lives.
We had a wide variety of personalities – from sports professionals, to musicians, business people to conservationists, and more.
It was so lovely to see the room abuzz with chatter and very interesting information being shared.
The students and staff learned a lot about these amazing people through their conversations and genuine interest in what was being presented.
Year 6 are to be commended for their efforts on this task as each and every presentation was absolutely outstanding. With most of this work and research being completed whilst learning from home.
Congratulations Year 6!

The PB4L focus for the coming weeks is revising and/or teaching social skills to assist the children in interacting with other children and engaging in their learning tasks. The skills that are revised or taught may include essential skills required to be able to interact with others in group tasks, for playing together on the playground or for treating others with respect. This will ensure that the children are having positive, respectful interactions with other children (both in the classroom and on the playground) so they can be safe at school and are able to complete their learning.
