Our Vision
Nazareth is a learning community that strives to develop the whole person so as to find God in all things.
Our Mission
Nazareth aligns with the prayer traditions of St Ignatius of Loyola and strives in partnership with parish, parents and the wider community, to reach our Vision by promoting the development of each individual student. The school aims to develop students who throughout their lives:
- SEEK God in all things
- Acquire WISDOM so as to exercise good judgement
- Build KNOWLEGDE of self, others, God and the world
- Find and promote PEACE
Our Values
- Respect, Responsibility, Excellence, Reflection, Forgiveness, Compassion, Inclusion, Commitment, Justice, Collaboration
Student leaders are currently conducting school tours for new prospective families and the visual representation of our Vision, Mission and Values, located on a large wall adjacent to the Library, is the starting point for each tour. The students are able articulate that our Vision is what we want to be, our Mission is how we go about it and the values show us what it looks like and sounds like.
These statements are not just words that form an impressive visual display, rather they are statements that encapsulate the essence of the school. These statements provide clarity on how we are called to be Christ-like people who are bound to uphold the dignity of each person in such a way that builds a respectful community of learners.
I extend my thanks to our student leaders who, in the context of school tours, are introducing new families to the importance of these statements. School tours will continue this Friday March 11 and the following Friday March 18 9:00am – 10:00am. Let your extended family or friends know that now is the time to apply to Nazareth for Kindergarten 2023 and that they are very welcome to attend a tour of the school. See our website for further enrolment details or phone the school office, 02 42 957303.
I ask that you take time to read the hard copy brochure of the All Saints Parish Renewal Program which is being distributed to all families today. The brochure outlines important parish information, purpose of the renewal program and an invitation to connect or reconnect with the parish.
Please remember in your prayers the many people across NSW and QLD who have been impacted by flood waters. The school will be contributing to funding raising organised by the St Vincent de Paul Society which will directly assist those that are now homeless because of the extreme flooding. Take care.

Reconciliation
Students are preparing for the sacrament of Reconciliation on Thursday, 17 March. The sacrament of Reconciliation is a prerequisite for First Holy Communion. Thank you to all of the parents who are supporting their children in preparing for these sacraments and bringing your children to church and to the afternoon workshops. These special events do not happen without the support and guidance from you, the parents.
Our first Religion unit in 2E this year has been all about the ‘Images go God’. We have discussed how God is like a mother, father, shepherd and potter. These images have shown us that God is loving, caring, a provider and always forgiving helping us to be the best person we can be. When we talked about God being like a potter we made little pots of our own.
In 5O we have been working hard at improving our reading comprehension skills, by learning to use the 7 Comprehension Strategies. These include: Predicting, Monitoring, Visualising, Inferring, Summarising, Making Connections and Questioning.
We used our visualising skills when we were exploring the poem “My Country”, by Dorothea Mackellar. We listened to the poem, watched a clip and read the poem as a story, before bringing what we visualised to life!
Below you can see some of our fabulous visualisations!

This week, our PB4L focus at Nazareth is on being responsible when accessing the toilets and making sure the students are responsible on the walkways.
When accessing our toilets, the students can demonstrate that they are responsible by:
- entering and exiting the toilets in a safe way, by walking and watching out for others;
- using the toilet, washing their hands and leaving the toilet area immediately;
- speaking quietly.
When using the walkways, students can demonstrate that they are responsible by:
- walking on the left hand side of the walkway, allowing others to pass them;
- stopping at the stopping stars, when instructed by their teacher;
- listening to their teacher’s instructions when walking with their class;
- staying in line when walking with their class;
- keeping their hands and feet to themselves.
The students are trying really hard to demonstrate that they can be responsible when using the toilets and walking on our walkways. Well done children!
