As we move towards the end of the 2022 school year I wish to acknowledge and congratulate the students of Nazareth for their learning progress. My mantra since day 1 of this year has been, ‘focus on your learning and be respectful’. The learning data, which I monitor regularly clearly indicates that the students have listened and have maintained their focus on their learning. Extensive in-school assessments and external assessments such as NAPLAN have been administered throughout the year. The data from these assessments drives the teaching required to meet the specific needs of individual students. This is a complex process which is facilitated very efficiently by Nazareth teaching staff. Expert teachers working with engaged motivated students produces positive learning progress. I observe the results of this when I listen to and speak with our Nazareth students who present as respectful children who love learning.
As previously communicated to you, I will not be the Principal at Nazareth next year. I have a new 12 month role whereby I will be based in the Catholic Education regional office and will be supporting leadership and professional growth across the schools in the Diocese of Wollongong. Mrs Lisa Tyson will be the Acting Principal at Nazareth for the 2023 school year. I congratulate Lisa and thank her for her preparedness to accept this significant role.
It is an honour to fulfil the role of Principal at Nazareth and I extend to all members of the school community my very best wishes for a happy holy Christmas and a happy and safe 2023. I encourage you not to be too distracted with the commercialism of Christmas, rather focus on the true meaning of Christmas that being the birth of Christ.
Merry Christmas.

Reconciliation Program
This weekend is the last opportunity for families to enrol their child in the parish based Reconciliation Program for 2023. If you wish your child to receive First Holy Communion next year then your child must first of all be enrolled in the Reconciliation Program. If your child is not enrolled in the Reconciliation Program, they will not be able to access the First Communion Program next year.
To enrol in the Reconciliation Program you and your child are asked to attend one of the weekend parish Masses this weekend and enrol your child.
All Saints weekend Masses are:
5pm vigil
9am Sunday
5pm Sunday.
Information above is from Fr Joe Parish Priest of All Saints.
KN have been learning about Advent in Religion lessons.
We know that Advent is a time of waiting. We are waiting for Jesus to be born!
Our prayer space reminds us that there are four Sundays in Advent. We know the Advent Wreath has four candles, three purple candles and one pink candle. One candle is lit each week leading up to Christmas with the pink one being lit on the third Sunday of Advent.
We have also been learning about the Christmas story through the stories of the Annunciation and the birth of Jesus. Mary had to travel a long way to give birth to Jesus. The journey was very hard for Mary!

PAYMENT OF SCHOOL FEES BY INSTALMENT
EXISTING FAMILIES IN OUR SCHOOL WITH INSTALMENTS
If you are currently paying by instalments there is no need to complete another Request to Pay by Instalment as your request carries over from year to year unless you wish to amend the frequency of your payments eg Weekly to Fortnightly
EXISTING FAMILIES IN OUR SCHOOL WITHOUT INSTALMENTS
If you would like to pay school fees by instalments in 2023 and have previously not taken up this option for payment, please complete a Request to Pay by Instalment Form which is available on the school’s website or from the school’s administration office. On completion of the request either email it to instalments@dow.catholic.edu.au or submit at the school office. Following receipt of the request, instalments will be generated on your school fee account during the process of invoicing 2023 school fees. Your school fee statement will provide a list of scheduled payments and their due date depending on the frequency you have chosen eg Fortnightly, Monthly, etc.
IMPORTANT: Please note that if you currently have a child or children at another school in the Diocese and you are paying by instalments at this location, you will not need to complete another Request to Pay by Instalment. The instalment request carries over from school to school with the same frequency of payment eg Weekly, fortnightly, etc.
