Dear Parents and carers,
This week we welcome Mr Danny Sykes as relieving principal while Mrs Tyson embarks on a well deserved holiday. Mr Sykes will be at Nazareth this week, and Weeks 1 and 2 of next term until Mrs Tyson returns in Week 3. I know that everyone will make Mr Sykes feel welcome as part of our Nazareth community.
As we approach the end of another busy term, take the time to reflect on this term with your children and all of the amazing things they have achieved. Many great things have happened during Term 3, so celebrate the successes and learning that has taken place with your children. Year 6 in particular have been working hard on their "Night of the Notables" work throughout the term, culminating with their showcase on Wednesday evening.
With the last day of the term on Thursday for students this week, I hope that everyone has a safe and relaxing break over the following two weeks and students are able to relax and recharge for Term 4.
Kind regards
Andrew Edwards
Acting Assistant Principal
First Holy Communion
lf your child will be making their sacrament of First Holy Communion, workshops will commence in Week 2 of Term 4. You will need to attend weekend masses to collect information and to enrol in your desired workshop afternoon.

2024 Representative Sport Trial Information
In the coming weeks information will be sent out via Compass for the 2024 Representative Sports Trials nomination process, this process will look a little different to previous years. Information will be communicated to parents and carers soon to ensure that you are able to nominate your child for their sport(s).
Please note that these sports nominations/trials are not for children to come for the experience, they are for children who are experienced and extremely talented in their sport(s). When the nominations have been received by the school, they will be filtered through and then sent to the Catholic Education Office who will make a decision about whether a child is invited to trial or not. When filling out these nominations, it is important that you include as much detail about your child(ren)’s experience as this will allow the sports team here at Nazareth and at the Catholic Education Office to make a fair decision regarding their nomination.
Please keep an eye on Compass in the coming weeks for the rest of this information.
Basketball Gala Day
Congratulations to the children from years 3, 4, 5 and 6 who attended the 2 Basketball Gala Day events last week. The children had a fantastic time and played in the spirit of the game. If you have any Basketball uniforms that are yet to be returned to the school, please bring these in as soon as possible.

MacKillop Athletics
Congratulations to Matilda Mackenzie who attended the MacKillop Athletics event at Homebush Stadium in shot put. She represented our school and the Diocese so well and to make it this far is an excellent achievement. Matilda came 15th in her shot put event. Congratulations once again to Matilda.

Upcoming Events:
Cricket Gala Day (years 5 & 6)- Thursday 12th October at Thomas Dalton Park (South).
Nominations have been received by children and a Compass event will be created soon. Please keep an eye out for this if your child has nominated to attend.

This week our PB4L focus is on celebrating the achievement of a class goal. Together with their teachers, classes will identify times or activities where they have achieved a behaviour or learning goal. They will work together to identify what the challenges were and how they were improved. Classes will celebrate their success during the week with a celebration at the end of the week! Well done children!
PARENTS AND FRIENDS ASSOCIATION
The P&F would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents who volunteered at the Father's Day stall and breakfast. We would also like to express our gratitude to the wonderful staff who always step in and help! We hope that everyone who attended enjoyed the morning.
The Father's Day stall and raffle collected $3880. After all expenses were paid, the net cash return was $1855 for the P&F fund, which will support future initiatives. We would like to extend our thanks to Harley and John's Seafood in Fairy Meadow for kindly donating a voucher for the raffle!
All the chocolates have been distributed to families. If anyone would like an extra box, please see the staff in the office.
The P&F was also able to donate $500 for Pastoral needs within the school community.
