This week, Holy Week, marks the holiest of time in the church’s year. The events of Holy Week are at the centre of our Christian belief, that being that Christ suffered, died and rose from the dead.
The pattern of events that occurred during the last days of Jesus’ earthly life (as remembered on Good Friday and Easter Sunday) are mirrored and replicated to varying degrees, in our own life and the lives of those close to us. Whether it be through illness, disappointment, separation or the many challenges that confront us, we all have a cross to carry, a hardship to endure. Regardless of our own personal circumstances, the resurrection of Christ on Easter Sunday provides us with hope, even when we think all is lost.
I encourage you, along with your family, to attend one of the Parish Masses or Liturgies over the days ahead. Refer to Mass times etc in this newsletter.
As this Term draws to a close I congratulate all Nazareth students for what they have achieved this Term. All students have improved with an aspect of their learning which is a result of their hard work and high level of engagement with their learning.
For those parents/carers who have utilised the afternoon school pick up procedure I encourage you to show your appreciation to the Nazareth staff on Thursday afternoon as it will be the last day, after 12 months, of that procedure. Remember that next Term children will be dismissed at 2:45pm from the playground area near their classrooms.
I will be attending a funeral in Sydney on Thursday and will not be at Nazareth. With Lisa Tyson on Leave this week, I have organised Mrs Jan Hutton to be Relieving Principal in my absence. Jan is an experienced Principal and will be able to support the students, staff and parents as required on Thursday.
I wish all families a very happy and holy Easter. Take care.

Principal
HOLY WEEK
We are now in the last week of Lent, known as Holy Week. Holy Week began with Palm Sunday, celebrated last Sunday. Kindergarten students have a beautiful display of hand-made palms in the foyer of the church, acknowledging this special day. Tomorrow, Thursday, students from Year 6 will present Stations of the Cross, the 14-step devotion that commemorates Jesus Christ's last day on Earth as a man. The link to the Parish bulletin below will remind you of the Easter services at our Church throughout this special time.
EASTER RAFFLE
Congratulations Nazareth! Our Easter raffle this year raised $1,601.20. All money will go to Caritas’ Project Compassion. The generous donations of students and families demonstrates the values of the Holy Spirit that Jesus showed us by serving our community and loving one another. A huge thank you to the Student Representative Council students who sold tickets and led the fun of our Easter raffle.
FEAST OF THE ANNUNCIATION
Last Thursday Nazareth School celebrated our school feast day, beginning with Mass at 9am. Thank you so much to the families who joined us in church. It is a warm feeling to finally welcome families back to our school celebrations

In Religion this week, 5O have been learning about Holy Week and its importance. 5O have picked one day from the Holy Week and researched what happened and why it was important.
Here are some photos of us working on our presentation.

This term the learning centre has worked hard in all areas of the learning. Students worked on their understanding of time, patterns and 2D shapes in Mathematics and in English we looked closely at the features of descriptive writing.
As a class reward this term, the students enjoyed making slime. It was a messy experience where we used glue and an activator to create to gooey substance. We then got creative and added glitter to make it extra sparkly. The students described the experience as being “fun, exciting and interesting”.
