It has been fantastic this week, to welcome students back to school to recommence face to face teaching and learning. Kindergarten and Year 1 students were welcomed back last week and all other Grades this week. The children are happy and I’ve been impressed with how they have adapted and have made a smooth transition back to school. I have enjoyed spending time with each class, telling the children that they did very well with their remote learning but it is far better to have children back at school learning in the classroom.
I acknowledge that there still is a high degree of uncertainty in the broader community, in relation to matters associated with COVID. Please be assured that the Nazareth staff will ensure for the children, that there is consistency of routine and numerous opportunities each day to be engaged with learning.
The Level 3 plus classification for the school remains which means a number of restrictions are in place in accord with Public Health Orders. I will keep all parents / carers informed as required in relation to changes.
Tomorrow, October 29 is World Teachers Day, a day to acknowledge the extra-ordinary work of teachers. We are blessed at Nazareth to have highly dedicated teachers who are always prepared to do what is required to support each child. This has certainly been highlighted during the recent extended time of remote learning.
Take care and enjoy the week ahead.

CONFIRMATION
A new date for the celebration of Confirmation for Year 6 students has been announced. It will be Saturday, 4 December and Sunday, 5 December at 11am. Due to current restrictions, at this stage, the planned Retreat/Workshop day will take place within the school by Year 6 classroom teachers.
ALL SAINTS DAY
Next Monday, 1 November is All Saints Day. All Saints' Day is a solemn holy day of the Catholic Church celebrated annually. The day is dedicated to the saints of the Church, that is, all those who have attained heaven. It should not be confused with All Souls' Day, which is observed on November 2, and is dedicated to those who have died and not yet reached heaven.
All students from Kindergarten to Year 6 will be celebrating this feast day of our church by learning about a Saint through various activities. Each grade has been given a Saint to learn about and their learning will be showcased in a video and shared with parents.
RIPPLES PODCAST
In this different time that we are experiencing, sometimes we need to shut down and clear our minds of the things going on around us. The podcast Ripples: Inspired Voices, Treasured Stillness was developed in response to COVID-19 and from a desire to find new ways to ‘be’ in this environment.
This podcast was developed for staff and parents on-going spiritual formation. It seeks to offer a space where people can draw on the wisdom of a series of guest speakers and can experience some treasured stillness through meditation. Practices like these create a ripple effect. They have the potential to impact the way we respond to family, friends, colleagues, to creation and to our loving God. Come and enjoy some Inspired Voices and Treasured Stillness. The podcast can be listened to through ‘Apple Podcast’ or ‘’Podbean. To access please use this link: https://ripples.dow.catholic.edu.au/
Father Joe has returned to weekend and weekday Masses. From 26-29 October, there will be communion services at All Saints Church. Mass resumes on 30 October.
Each week All Saints Parish continues to present a Bulletin with the weekend Readings and other important information. A link can be found on the Parish Website: http://www.allsaintscatholic.org.au/allsaintscatholic/Welcome.html.
The children in KC have enjoyed being back at school. They have loved re connecting with their friends again. We have spent lots of time socialising and playing so we can spend time with our friends again.
We are also challenging our brains and trying to solve problems and ask mathematical questions in our Maths lessons. We are trying really hard.
In writing, we are learning to write descriptions. We have been reading, “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt” so we are writing about bears.

The whole school community thanks Stephanie for the positive contribution made to Nazareth, including her support of all of her students and for all the extra support to the broader school. On behalf of the whole school community I wish Stephanie and her husband Josh, all the best as they await the arrival of their new little baby.

Welcome back to school!
We have had a wonderful start to school after a very long period of remote learning! The children are settling in very well and are enjoying seeing their friends and teachers again (in person!). The staff at Nazareth are very proud of the way that the children have returned to school in a responsible manner and are so pleased to see the children displaying such happiness at being back at school.
Our current PBFL focus is on settling the children and getting them back into their normal routines at school. We are also focusing on respect and what it looks like, sounds like and feels like to be respectful to other children, our teachers and other staff members at Nazareth.
