I wish to acknowledge and extend my thanks to the Nazareth staff for their ongoing extraordinary work during Term 1 of this year. In the midst of significant disruption, learning engagement has remained high and students have made pleasing progress. Also, it has been a very challenging time for many families due to family members testing positive to COVID and /or being impacted as close contacts. Despite the challenges that have confronted all of us including the extreme weather, Nazareth remains consistent in relation to our commitment to providing quality Catholic education allowing for continuity in learning for all students. I encourage families to connect with our parish during Holy Week and Easter. The sacramental acknowledgement of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is played out through liturgy which all us can engage with during the week ahead. Refer to parish Mass and Liturgy times in this newsletter. Remember, Easter Sunday always follows Good Friday and that this remains as a constant source of hope for everyone. Take time to reflect on this in prayer so that we are not blinded by the over commercialization of Easter.
I look forward to welcoming everyone back to Nazareth to commence Term 2 on Tuesday April 26.
Take care.

All families are welcome to attend. If, however, this continuing rain prevents this, we will send a link via COMPASS notifying you on Friday morning.
Project Compassion Boxes
If any families have Project Compassion boxes, please drop them off to the Parish office before Holy Thursday, next week. Thank you so much to the generous families of Nazareth for your continued contributions toward Caritas and Project Compassion. Your donations change the lives of families.
Palm Sunday and Holy Week
This Sunday is Palm Sunday, also called Passion Sunday, in the Christian tradition, the first day of Holy Week and the Sunday before Easter. Palm Sunday commemorates Jesus Christ's triumphal entry into Jerusalem. Following Palm Sunday is Holy Week. Holy Week is important as it reminds us of God's sacrifice of his son, and also God's love for his people. Easter is the most important festival in the Christian calendar.
All Palm Sunday and Holy Week mass times can be found in the All Saints Parish Bulletin and all other important information. A link can be found on the Parish Website: https://www.dow.org.au/parish/all-saints-catholic-parish-shellharbour-city

LEARNING with The Learning Centre
Wow! What an amazing term in the Learning Centre. The students have been actively engaged in all of their English and Mathematics learning. In Maths this term, students have focused on the concepts of Number, Patterns, Time and 2D shapes. We enjoyed learning through hands on learning tasks. In English, each student has worked hard in the areas of reading, writing, phonics, comprehension and so much more. A big highlight throughout the term was making pancakes on Shrove Tuesday.

Congratulations
Congratulations to Sonny Cocksedge who recently represented the NSW MacKillop Swimming Team at the Olympic Swimming Pool in Homebush. Sonny competed in the 50m Backstroke event and swam exceptionally well. Well done Sonny, the whole school community is very proud of you.
Cross Country
The event is rescheduled to occur Wednesday April 27 (Week 1 Term 2) however the event will be for competitors only – Year 2 to Year 6. Normal classes will be held Wednesday April 27 for students who have not nominated to compete. The school apologises for any inconvenience this may cause but I am sure that everyone understands due to the current unforseen weather.
