I wish to welcome everyone back to Nazareth following the recent pupil vacation. It’s great to see the children smiling and happy to be back at school. During this uncertain, worrying time please be assured that the school is doing everything within our means so as to maintain a safe environment for all children and staff. I wish to extend my thanks to all parents/carers for cooperating with all that is asked of you during this time. This includes but not limited to, keeping children at home when unwell, collecting children from school if they become unwell during the day, providing medical clearance following Flu-like symptoms, adhering to all aspects associated with morning drop off / afternoon pick up and restrictions associated with accessing the school site. I stress the importance of adherence to all NSW Health directives particularly if you or your family have visited identified hot spots requiring you to be tested and / or a time of isolation. As previously stated, it is a very important collective responsibility that we all share.
In relation to the afternoon pick up procedures, I thank everyone for adjusting to the new times. I fully understand that it can be challenging in traffic congestion however, this afternoon approximately 20 vehicles were cueing to get into the carpark up to 15 mins before the first pick up time. Please do not arrive early as this only adds to traffic congestion. Road works in and around the adjacent building site also contributed to the congestion this afternoon. All children are safely supervised until parents/carers arrive. So, it is best to arrive on or after your time not before your time. I am also aware that some vehicles are entering the car park entrance from the south off College Ave (crossing the line of traffic). To my knowledge there is no traffic signage stating this cannot be done, however what is clear is that it is unsafe due to the high traffic volume on College Ave. I strongly encourage parents/carers not to cross the line of traffic to enter the car park, rather approach the car park entrance from the north along College Ave (from the Stockland end). Remember you can also park in the neighbouring area and walk in.
In summary:
- APPROACH THE CARPARK ENTRANCE FROM THE NORTH
- DON’T ARRIVE EARLY. ARRIVE ON OR AFTER THE COMMENCEMENT OF YOUR ALLOCATED TIME.
These two refinements will further improve safety for everyone.
Despite the organisation associated with all aspects of COVID -19 restrictions, Nazareth continues to focus on the delivery of quality learning and teaching. The ongoing refinement of processes known as Case Collaboration (Learning) and Collaborative Inquiry (Learning) are aimed at supporting learning gain for every student. Learning in a safe and supportive environment continues as a high priority, as does the lived example of our Vision and Mission whereby we strive to promote the development of the whole person so as to find God in all things.
Rather than being overwhelmed by current circumstances, I suggest during the days ahead to make time to thank God for all that is good in your life.
If I can be of any assistance to you or your family please contact me via the school office.
Enjoy the week ahead

Students will also consider how people’s perceptions of places are the basis for actions to protect places and environments.
