Lord, teach me to be generous,
Teach me to serve you as you deserve;
To give and not to count the cost,
To fight and not to heed the wounds,
To toil and not to seek for rest,
To labor and not to ask for reward,
Save that of knowing that I do your will.
Amen
This week marks the 4th Week of Lent. In the Gospel last Sunday, we were reminded of Jesus healing a blind man. Who was this man? Interestingly he does not have a name. The fact that there is no name indicates that we should see ourselves in this story. “Blindness” refers to the difficulty we may have seeing God in all things. We may struggle to see God's grace in our lives - in the extraordinary moments and in the ordinary moments. Lent is a time to pray for and notice the presence of God within our lives, thus being healed of spiritual blindness.
Please pray for the Year 3 students who will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Wednesday 5th April.
An information and registration evening for the parents of the students in Year 6 who wish to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation is being held on Thursday 30th March at 7pm in the hall.
Father Joe is looking for children from Kindergarten to Year 6 to be part of the Good Friday Stations of The Cross at 11:00am. If willing and able, please place your child’s name on the clipboard which can be found in the Children’s Liturgy Room.

The Feast of the Annunciation of The Lord on March 25 occurs within Lent. It is a feast that does not celebrate a day connected to Jesus’ death or resurrection, but his birth.
The Feast of the Annunciation celebrates God’s entrance into the human world through Jesus and Mary’s willingness to accept God’s command.
The name of our school depicts the place of peace where Jesus was raised and was nurtured. This is why the Feast of the Annunciation was chosen to be the Feast Day of Nazareth Catholic Primary School.
Because March 25 falls on a Saturday this year, the Feast Day will be celebrated at school on Friday March 24 with a whole school Mass at 9am and activities for the students in the classroom.

During the season of Lent, we have been learning about: Prayer, Fasting and Almsgiving. Through the Project Compassion Hub we have researched 4 stories, and learnt about 4 Project Compassion Champions from around the world. Each of these stories have inspired us to become our own Project Compassion Champions.
During Lent we pray that all of us may show compassion to those less fortunate.

1S have had a fantastic and very busy start to 2023! We have settled into the routine of Year 1 very well and have worked hard, earning lots of rewards for all of our efforts.
The learning gains have been endless and we have celebrated many special occasions. We have done so much it’s too hard to list it all.
So far this term we have been writing descriptions connected to the characters in the books that we have been reading. We also have been learning comprehension strategies and are developing an understanding that reading is all about thinking - reading for meaning!
We attended Mass with our families and had a great Faith and Learning visit with those that could celebrate with us.

1S is very proud of all our learning! We are looking forward to Easter when we can spend time with our families.
This week Nazareth Catholic Primary School celebrated Harmony Day. A day to enjoy the multiculturalism of our beautiful country and community. We celebrated belonging and accepting each other and our differences. This year Stage Three held a “Cultural Food Feast”, where students brought in foods that best represented their family. Some of the foods included: Vietnamese spring rolls and fried rice, German sausage, Macedonian kifli, Italian pizza and tiramisu. It was a wonderful and delicious celebration for all.

Over the next two weeks, our PB4L classroom focus is on respecting the personal space of others. Classroom teachers will discuss with their students what personal space means and will teach the students some of the verbal and non-verbal cues people give when someone is in their personal space.
Our non classroom focus is on revising the procedures and rules for the games that students play. Staff on duty will look for and reward safe and friendly play on the grass and playground equipment. Students who are seen to be playing appropriately will receive a house colour token.
In other PB4L news, our SRC Team is in the process of making a video to relaunch our PB4L Token system. A special thanks to Zane Gillespie, Armani King, Jordyn Andreeski, Luke Bacchetto, Georgia Micevski and Finn Day who are doing an amazing job leading the SRC team through this process.
